Our Story

Since 1981, Cornerstone Christian Schools has been a Camarillo institution, providing quality education and growth opportunities, as well as introducing and bringing children into an understanding that they were created by God, they are loved by a Savior, and they can change the world through that knowledge. Formally known as Christian Church School, a ministry of Camarillo Christian Church, our campus has been a part of the stories of many families, and continues to meet the whole-child mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of students who are growing up in an increasingly one-dimensional culture. 

From our birth over 30 years ago, we are now separately incorporated, becoming an independent private school system known as “Cornerstone Schools of Ventura County dba Cornerstone Christian Schools”. While we now operate as tenants of the church, we maintain a positive, Christ-centered relationship with our proprietors, and share a mutual interest in each organization's health, actively supporting each other through prayer. 

The Cornerstone Christian Schools are a Preschool, Elementary School, and Middle School. Our Elementary and Middle School programs have been fully accredited since 1987 by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). While we're not the biggest school in the county, we are committed to providing a quality, Christ-centered program, and we believe accreditation is essential to that assurance.

We call Camarillo, California our home. Camarillo is located 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles in western Ventura County. Camarillo has a population of 66,000 with a citywide area of nearly 20 square miles. More recently known as the home to Cal State Channel Islands and the Camarillo Premium Outlets, our city maintains the feel of a small town in rural suburban community. Statistically an upper-middle class community, Camarillo also boasts ample parks, recreational opportunities, and easy beach access, making this "small town" ideal for families. 

Cornerstone Christian Schools is proud of our Camarillo heritage, and is passionate about continuing our service to Western Ventura County children and families for many years to come. How much do we believe in this ministry? Some of our staff and volunteers have been a part of the CCS family for decades, many of them once walking the halls as students themselves. The Cornerstone legacy has also compelled many former students to bless their OWN children the Cornerstone experience.
