KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten is a pivotal year in every child’s academic and social development, and at CCS, we are committed to making this journey both exciting and meaningful. Our Kindergarten program focuses on building foundational skills in a nurturing, Christian environment. We help children learn to interact with peers, establish routines, and most importantly, understand God’s love for them as they grow in faith and knowledge.
A Typical Day in Kindergarten includes:
Circle Time: Flag, calendar, worship, prayer, and storytime.
Bible Lesson: Learning about God’s word and love, and reciting Bible verses.
Phonics and Math Lessons: Developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
Nutrition Break and Recess: Time to refuel and play.
Library Time: Encouraging a love for reading and exploring new books.
Each lesson is designed to engage children through various learning approaches, ensuring every child’s needs are met.
Special Classes and Activities:
Art: Crafts, directed drawing, and process art.
Music, Physical Education, and Spanish.
Computer Lab: Introducing basic technology skills.
Reading Buddies: Partnering with older students to foster a love for reading.
STEM: Hands-on projects to spark curiosity and creativity.
Field Trips: Opportunities to learn beyond the classroom.
Special Programs: Kindergarteners participate in two programs during the year.
Event Days: Celebrations and themed activities to enrich their experience.
Spiritual Growth: In addition to daily activities, our Kindergarteners attend weekly chapel, where they engage in worship, prayer, and lessons about living as followers of Christ. These experiences help them grow spiritually and build a strong foundation for the years ahead.
At CCS, we believe in creating an atmosphere where learning is not only fun but rooted in faith. Our teachers guide students to develop their God-given gifts while growing in character and academic abilities.
