FIFTH GRADE
In Fifth Grade, students deepen their academic understanding while continuing to grow in faith and character. The curriculum integrates core subjects such as Bible, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Language Arts with a variety of enrichment classes, including Art, Music, Spanish, P.E., and Computer.
Bible
Students study the Old Testament to uncover God’s plan for salvation and His unwavering love for His people.
Daily prayer, weekly Bible verse memorization, and chapel participation encourage spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with Christ.
Social Studies
Students explore American history, from early exploration to modern times, through an engaging, narrative approach.
Hands-on history labs make historical events come alive, helping students connect with the past in meaningful ways.
Science
Students develop scientific thinking as they study geology, fossils, matter, weather, biomes, ecosystems, heat, light, sound, respiration, and circulation.
Experiments and interactive lessons reinforce concepts and inspire curiosity about God’s creation.
Math
Focus on strengthening math fundamentals and solving multi-step problems involving fractions, decimals, and equations.
Emphasis on developing confidence and critical thinking skills in mathematical reasoning.
Language Arts
Students read a wide variety of literature across genres to enhance comprehension and critical analysis.
Writing activities include creative writing, research reports, and public speaking, building strong communication skills.
Grammar instruction reinforces the mechanics of effective writing.
Enrichment Classes
Weekly enrichment opportunities include Art, Music, Spanish, P.E., STEM, and Computer.
Students also participate in Reading Buddies with kindergarteners, fostering leadership and mentorship skills.
Character Development
Students focus on building study habits, personal responsibility, and social skills to prepare for the transition to middle school.
A Biblical perspective is integrated into every subject, encouraging students to recognize God’s goodness and apply His teachings to their daily lives.
