Elementary Program Overview
Hot Lunch
Parents may order their child a lunch online. These lunches are delivered to the school and passed out at the child’s lunchtime.
Uniforms
We love our uniforms, and feel they play an important role in alleviating potential competition among students. Our uniform policy allows for various uniform options. Click the link below for our Uniform Policy, and for uniform purchasing options.
Curriculum
The elementary program at Cornerstone Christian School consists of traditional elementary school classes taught from a Biblical worldview. The course of study includes: Bible, phonics, math, reading, spelling, science, P.E., health, safety, social studies, English, art, computers, music, and Spanish.
Standardized Achievement Tests demonstrate that the elementary school has historically scored one to two grades above the national norm in all subject areas. Credentialed/Certificated Christian teachers and quality curricular materials assure the continuation of this rating. Field trips, speakers, chapels, various videos and other enrichment materials support the regular classroom programs.
A child should be five years old by September 1st to be eligible for Kindergarten, however exceptions may be made if a child is developmentally and academically ready.
(E)xtended (D)ay(C)are
Our Elementary School offers before-school & after school care. We want our students to feel at home after a full day at school, and the EDC team is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming environment for that to happen. Students are provided with snacks, a homework room and assistance, games, crafts and recreation time.
Summer School
Summer School begins the week AFTER the regular school year ends. This program has an entirely different feel from the regular school year, offering a wide-range of field-trips, on campus theme days, weekly swim and city library visits, daily study and devotional time, and lots of opportunity for crafting creativity. Without a doubt, our Summer School students get a "summer vacation" experience.
