FOURTH GRADE
In Fourth Grade, students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that challenges their academic abilities while deepening their faith. They also have opportunities to participate in activities such as the Camarillo Academic Olympics, Drama Club, Gardening Club, and Choir Club. Core subjects include Bible, Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Art, and Math. Enrichment classes such as Music, Library, Spanish, and STEM further enhance their educational experience.
Bible
Students participate in daily prayer, weekly Bible verse memorization, and chapel services to grow spiritually.
Lessons focus on applying biblical principles to daily life and developing a personal relationship with Christ.
Math
Mastery of multi-digit multiplication and division, fractions, common factors, and measurement concepts.
Weekly multiplication fact drills (1x–12x) reinforce fluency and accuracy in computations.
Language Arts
Grammar: Builds on foundational language skills to enhance reading comprehension and written communication.
Focus on analyzing parts of speech, crafting research reports, and understanding sentence structure.
Literature: Students explore high-quality novels, focusing on character development, plot, and summarization.
Creative projects follow each novel study to deepen comprehension and literary analysis.
Spelling
Uses the Wordly Wise curriculum to teach the spelling and meaning of over 250 words.
Weekly tests and review assignments reinforce vocabulary and measure progress.
Science
Students explore forces, energy, the moon, and Earth’s oceans, marveling at the intentional design of God’s creation.
Hands-on experiments and projects make scientific concepts engaging and memorable.
Social Studies
Starts with an overview of the 50 states, emphasizing geography and history.
Focus areas include California’s Native American tribes, the Missions, Ranchos, Gold Rush, railroads, and the Industrial Revolution.
Enrichment Programs
Weekly enrichment classes in Music, Library, Spanish, and STEM encourage creativity and innovation.
